Favorite Game

 League of Legends


League of Legends is one of my favorite games to play. I've been playing it for over 5 years on and off and while it can be toxic environment sometimes because of some players, I find it fun to play with my friends.

In summary, you are a summoner and can control champions. In the main game mode, you play as a team of 5 to strategically destroy the other teams base. There are over 140 champions to chose from, each with their own unique abilities and playstyles. There are 5 different roles/lanes you can go on, Top, Mid, Jungle and Bot which consists of an ADC (attack damage carry) and Support champions. 

The main role or lane that I play on would be ADC champs in bot lane and then Top lane champs


ADC is used to refer to a champion that is usually ranged and deals strong damage in a continuous flow with their basic attacks. They tend to be some of the strongest champions in terms of attack damage. Some of my favorite ADC champions to play are: Jinx, Aphelios, Tristana, Vayne and Lucian

    Hey Fineas, I really liked this post that you made! I remember trying to get into League myself like 2 years ago but my laptop could barely run it and the matches take so long to finish. 5 years is a long time to consistently be playing a game so fair play, I wouldn't be able to haha. I never heard about ADC champs so that was interesting. Keep it up

    Hey Fineas, I really liked this post that you made! I never did get into League myself but I've played similar games and they were fun so I can imagine it being a good one two. I could never play a game continuously for five years, that's too much I wouldn't be able to haha. Keep up the good work.

  (image of my Dundoc design model) This week I started to create my Game Design Document and have wrote up some of the basic things I need to include in it. Starting off I was a bit lost on what to write but I was able to get through it by using a template on Dundoc and looking at other examples to get a better understanding. having to write the Game Design Document gave me a clearer end goal and direction to my game where I was able to define things such as the characters back story and some more way to add a twist to the game such as actually being able to win the game if you get far enough from the tornado. Feedback Thoughts

This week I read 2 articles about Feedback for Learning. These were: -  Neil Gaiman's advice on the creative life -  A fixed mindset could be holding you back I found these two articles very useful and insightful and I love their approach and mindset of how receiving feedback should be! Reading through the first article about Neil Gaiman's advice on the creative life I was intrigued by his advice of no matter how tough things are, just go and make good art. That no matter what you're going through be it good or bad you can go and make some good art out of it. I feel it give that mindset of looking at things from the bright side and taking just the positive. Another good point of his was going and making mistakes. The fact that if you're making mistakes it means you are going out and trying new things, you can't learn without trying new things and being ok with making mistakes. Game Vision Statement

  ( image of a running figure icon,  source ) Introduction:  The game that I want to create is an endless runner game with the objective of getting as far as possible and getting more points. There would be obstacles in the way that the player would have to jump over or dodge. Hitting an obstacle would mean they lose. This game would be a challenging game with the player needing fast reflexes once it speeds up. Target Market:  The target market for this game would be people that are ready for a challenge and like to test out their arrow key reflexes. We want the users to enjoy a fast paced game where they keep coming back to get higher scores.
